PROMOTION AND DETENTION -:
The assessment and promotion is governed in conformity with the guidelines of CBSE and as directed by Board which aims at holistic evaluation of the learner.
PRE-NURSERY, NURSERY & KG -:
The philosophy behind the teachins is "We play as we learn and we learn as we play". Goals are set in a programme consistent with the early stages of a child's development. The programme includes the following skills– Linguistics, Creative, Numerical, Social/interpersonal. Thus, we hope to hone the child's intellectual, physical, cultural, artistic and communication skills in a free and stimulating environment. Children have lunch together and this helps in the development of social skills.
At, JPS we believe that every child is unique individual with unique learning abilities. In the formative years, the emphasis is on the development of language & other skills in the child. This in turn, is done through honing various skills like listening, speaking, reading and writing. The child is assessed individually twice a year (exept the unit/weekly tests).
CLASSES 1 TO 5 -:
These classes have an integrated academic programme devised to inculcate confidence in the child. The environment is communicative and children are motivated to express themselves. Reading is a vital part of the programme. Children are encouraged to ask questions.
CLASSES 6 TO 10 -:
The academic programme for the middle school & senior school is designed to develop idividual & group values. Format study skills are inculcated and methods & strategies for strong work habits are taught to the children.
The school follows CBSE's latest Education Policy for the assessment & evaluation for classes VI-X. The assessment structure and examination system has been prepared in view of provisions of CBSE.
ASSEMBLY -:
A School Assembly forms an important aspect of any curriculum. It encompasses potential to develop a positive school ethos that focuses on care for the self, others and the quest of all types of excellence. It strongly nurtures the intrapersonal intelligence. We conduct assemblies around a theme that helps in adding value to Education, Festivals or Awareness Programmes that are to Regional, National and Global importance.
REMEDIAL CLASSES -:
We take care of each and every child and our best endeavour is to help every child to perform better. When a student is not doing well at a subject, additional steps are taken so as to improve the students performance. Such student may be sent to a class that aims at teaching basic concepts or the student may be provided study-habits among children. Like a remedy, the remedial classes are dedicated to improve students in specific subject that they are struggling with.
DISCIPLINE -:
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. Your level of success is determined by your Discipline and Perseverance. The school discipline policy aims at creating an environment in which all members of the school can live and work together in a supportive way. It aims to promote an environment in which everyone feels happy, safe and secure, thus promoting good relationships and an environment conducive to learning.
One of the goals of education is self-discipline, so parents, teachers, and administrators will work with students to establish guidelines for acceptable behaviour. Appropriate action will be taken by the school administration, in consultation with the Principal & Teachers, when inappropriate behaviour of a student continues to disrupt the educational programme.
